Shop Metal Finish Samples

Most of our iron finish samples carry an unmistakably Old World influence. The look is mainly traditional, grounded in European styles like Tuscan, French Country, and Mediterranean. You’ll notice aged surfaces, and layered patinas that give each piece character.

There’s a softness to the overall feel, even in the darker tones. A blend of rustic aging and refined brushwork gives these metal finish samples a presence without being flashy. Use on a full iron bed frame or a delicate accent piece, the finish sets the tone.

Types of Iron and Metal Finish Samples

Some of the cleanest options come in smooth, powder-coated tones. Matte black, dark brown, warm ivory. These lean more transitional, offering a simplified take on traditional forms without the extra texture. The surface is even, with no brush marks or antique rub-throughs, making them easy to pair with more updated pieces.

Then there are the aged whites, creams, and subtle sage tones. These are intentionally imperfect. A bit chippy, softly scuffed, or lightly speckled, they’re right at home in French Country or farmhouse settings. They hold onto a relaxed, lived-in feel.

For something richer, hand-applied brushed metallics bring warmth and variation. Think bronze, pewter, rusted gold. Colors that catch the light differently depending on the angle. These finishes tend to highlight scrolls and carving details, often found on Tuscan or Spanish Revival ironwork.

A few finishes lean further into patina. Turquoise, oxidized copper, or greenish-blue tones show up in samples designed to look weathered by time. These bring in a more garden-inspired, European vintage energy.

You’ll also find darker, speckled finishes. Charcoal with silver flecks, or black with a hammered texture. These metal finish samples come off more industrial, and sometimes read early Americana or rustic lodge, depending on the shape of the piece.

The raw iron look shows up in a few spots too. These matte or satin finishes mimic natural aging and work well with Colonial or Western-influenced furniture.

And finally, a handful of finishes go in a different direction: gold-toned, hand-gilded, or softly luminous. They’re not overly flashy, but definitely intentional. A subtle nod to French Baroque or a toned-down Hollywood Regency look that still feels grounded.
